MICHIGAN CITY – Lakeshore Foods Corp. has announced it will open in the Jewel-Osco building in Michigan City. Jewel is withdrawing from Michigan City and closed its store on Oct. 8.
Lakeshore Foods operates five Al’s Supermarkets in Michigan City, LaPorte and South Haven, and Barney’s Market in New Buffalo, Mich.
President Gil Pontius said Lakeshore Foods has acquired all of the shelving and other hardware and the non-perishable inventory of Jewel. As soon as new checkout lanes are installed, Lakeshore Foods will re-open the store.
